Day three, volunteering at my robotics camp.

So when we arrived the first thing we began working on was attaching the claw and its supporting structure to the base of the drivetrain. It was a relatively straightforward attachment although it did take surprisingly long since my team was relatively inexperienced.

After that we wired up all of the motors to the brain and began test driving it. We immediately just found out that it was quite unstable so the claw wiggled a lot and the team decided to add some bracing and tighten up all the screws. After a few minutes of trying they decided against it for some reason. I was attempting to keep them encouraged and to try and add more stuff to their bot, more of their own ideas, but they kept pushing back, saying that they already knew how to physically build stuff.
